What are Fiona Threads?

Fiona Threads can be made with two different types of material:
1.Polydioxanone (PDO), which is often used for stitching in surgeries, lasts from six to twelve months depending on the circumstances. The threads will typically be dissolved within no more than one year, but help stimulates the production of collagène in your skin which is an effect that can sometimes last until well after the thread has gone.

2.Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), another material often chosen for surgical sutures, is even more effective at stimulating collagène production with a thread lifetime of more than two years. Once dissolved, the material breaks down into lactate, glucose, carbon dioxide and water, and has become one of the commonly used materials by advanced thread lift doctors for treatment in Singapore. Even after the thread has dissolved, collagène production can last for up to one more year.
3.Polycaprolactone(PCL), helps our skin produce collagen, which is responsible for skin resilience and regeneration due to it’s excellent charateristics. PCL is widely used as surgery stitch thread which is also safe to human body, It is acknowledged to be safe product approved by FDA. PCL sets you free from frequent treatments as it lasts two years. PCL is safe because it is completely decomposed and absorbed in our body through hydrolysis process
 

PDO, PLLA, and PCL are all names of different types of materials. These have been made into threads because they have high tensile strength, and are inert, so that they do not cause problems with excessive inflammation.

The main difference is in longevity, stiffness and tensile strength:
PDO (Polydioxanone) dissolves after 6-9 months
PLLA (Poly L Lactic Acid) dissolves after 12-18 months
PCL (Polycaprolactone) dissolves after 24- 36 months
